Google Launches Pixel Fold: Here’s What You Need to Know

Google has entered the mobile phone industry, launching its foldable phone for the first time. More information will be released during Google I/O on May 10.

According to reports, Google plans to unveil its first foldable phone, the Pixel Fold, during the Google I/O 2023 event next week.

Though Google has yet to release the device’s features, the video shows a full-size outside display on a phone. The phone opens in the same way that Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold devices do.

In terms of the camera, according to the brief teaser video, the camera bar on the back is fairly similar to past Pixel devices but does not stand out as much. The specs are entirely based on what we’ve seen in leaked marketing materials and even a hands-on video.

In terms of design, the phone’s exterior features the iconic camera visor. It is instantly recognised as the Pixel phone. However, the elevation appears to be smaller than that of the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro. According to the films, Google will deploy a triple camera arrangement on the Pixel Fold.

The third lens, however, is clearly a periscope lens, which is also found in the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.

According to the news station, the Pixel Fold is a 5.8-inch phone that folds out to become a 7.6-inch tablet. The phone, on the other hand, features a Google Tensor G2 processor with 12 GB LPDDR5 RAM, weighs 10 ounces, and boasts the “most durable hinge on a foldable.”

After customising the operating system for various Android foldable smartphones, consumers are eager to see what Google has to offer, particularly with its pixel edge.

The exterior display will be 7.6 inches in size and will have a resolution of 22081840 pixels. Both panels will be able to reach a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz. In terms of specifics, the rear camera configuration will include a 48 MP main shooter with an f/1.7 aperture.

It does, however, have a 10.8 MP telephoto lens with five times optical zoom and a 10.8MP ultra-wide lens with an f/2.2 aperture.

Although the firm has not officially revealed the price, it is speculated that the Pixel Fold will cost more than $1,700. The pricing of Samsung’s latest foldable, the Z Fold 4, is $1,799.

The Google Fold was scheduled to debut last year, but it did not make the cut for I/O 2022. The rumours regarding the debut, on the other hand, haven’t died down in the year since Google has focused on educating Android developers how to make their apps work on larger displays and foldable devices.

Google also revealed earlier this week that it intends to launch a new Pixel device in India, most likely the Pixel 7a.

On Flipkart, the business released a device teaser.
